Outrage has been sparkled in the
Druze stronghold of Sweida province, after arresting a militia commander by
Assad’s military security, the source said.
Nabil Ghabra, commander of the
National Defence Army, pro-Assad militia, has been arrested in Qraya town, the birthplace of the historical Syrian figure, Sultan Pacha al-Atrash, who led the Syrian Revolution from 1925–1927.
NDA militants have threatened to
give up fighting in the Assad side and more, to declared rebellion against his
forces in Sweida.
Sweida has
witnessed several pro-democracy protests since the Syrian uprising erupted in
March 2011. While the movement remains marginal, it is charged with symbolism.
