406 fighters freed in prisoner swap between 'Nusra Front' and rival group

(Zaman Al Wasl) - Former al-Qaeda group and Syria Liberation Front swapped 406 prisoners and hostages in Idlib province on Monday, ending two months of tensions and clashes, a rebel official said.

Amr al-Jundi, commander in 'Jabhat Tahrir Souriya' told Zaman al-Wasl that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and his rebel group had exchanged 406 fighters.

Formerly known as Nusra Front has freed 149 rebels from Tahrir Souriya and 37 from Suqour al-Sham while 220 fighters from Tahrir al-Sham were freed in return. 

The prisoner exchange deal was brokered prominent cleric Abdullah al-Muhaisini and Abu Mohamed al-Sadeq.
