(Zaman Al Wasl)- A senior rebel commander killed early Monday by unknown assailants in northern Idlib province, local source said.
Khalil Ismael Ersan, deputy commander of Jaish al-Ahrar, was assassinated with his son in the town of Joubas in the southern countryside of Idlib when armed men opened fire while they were stepping out from local mosque after the Fajr prayer.
The state of security chaos has been continued in Idlib province as tens of Tahrir al-Sham members have been killed in the last few weeks.
The formerly known as Nusra Front says sleeper cells have blotted the assassinations that led by the Russian air base in Hmeimym.
Idlib has been a haven for tens of thousands of rebels and 2.3mn civilians who were forced to abandon their homes in other parts of western Syria that the regime and its foreign military allies have recaptured from rebels.
