(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 21 regime forces killed on Friday when Daesh militants launched surprise attack on their bastion in the southern desert, pro-ISIS news feeds said.
The attack took place in al-Safa area near the southern province of Suwaida.
Meanwhile, the regime is still mobilizing troops in southern Syria along the border with Jordan ahead of imminent offensive to recapture Daraa province.
The move followed expelling the last rebels and Daesh militants from around Damascus in May.
Rebels say elite army troops backed by Iranian-backed local militias have been escalating hit and run attacks on their posts in a so-called "Triangle of Death", which connects southern Damascus countryside with Deraa and Quneitra provinces.
