Suqour al-Sham Brigades denied to Zaman Alwasl
signing any truce with the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) to not
attack each other, saying it might be fabricated.
Pro-jihadist social media on
Wednesday have circulated a photo for document purporting that ISIS leader Abu
Bakr Al Baghdadi and Suqour Sham Leader, Abu Eassa have signed an agreement to
not attack each other.
The main Islamic Front unit says
according to its press office that the reconciliation accord is not
representing the brigades’ leadership.
Ahmad Zaki Assi, Suqour al-Sham
press officer said the leadership will issue a statement over a deal might be
happened in Al Shaer area in Homs countryside between ISIS and the brigade
commander over there, and that does not represent the official position of Suqour al-Sham’s leadership, “it was an individual act,” he
added.
The document calls for “an immediate
halt to fighting between the sides and no assault by either side on the other
in any way, according to The Victorious Party In the Land of Ash-Sham, pro-ISIS
Facebook page. It also urges that any disagreements between the groups be
referred to an Islamic court.
