Names of 1500 detainees freed in Shiite villages evacuation deal: list

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Zaman al-Wasl has obtained he names of detainees who have been freed due to the evacuation deal of the Shiite villages of al-Foua and Kefraya on Wednesday.

About 1500 people, including 126 women and 75 children, were freed by the regime security and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia after the former al-Qaeda offshoot, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham allowed 6,000 besieged people to leave the Shiite villages of al-Foua and Kefraya.

Most of the released detainees were arrested since few weeks or month, revealing a new trick by the regime which is still seizing activists and opponents behind the bars since the first years of the Syrian uprising. Even despite news of slaughtering and torturing to death more than 24, 000 detainees in notorious Saydnaya prison and military Intelligence division in 2013 and 2014.

Officials from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Iran's Revolutionary Guards had negotiated the deal, according to Reuters.

In April last year, thousands of people in the two villages were shuttled out to regime territory in a swap deal.

In return, hundreds of residents left two towns at the border with Lebanon which were in the hands of Sunni rebels at the time and besieged by pro-regime forces. They were evacuated to insurgent territory in northern Syria.
