Two rebel commanders killed by assailants in Idlib

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Two rebel commanders killed overnight by unknown assailants in the town of Maarrat al-Nou’man in northern Idlib province. 

Abu Zaid al-Jammal and Osama al-Jamqra, former military commander in Alwyat Suqour al-Sham were killed when an armed group opened fire on them in al-Masaya neighborhood.

The state of security chaos has been continued in Idlib province as tens of Tahrir al-Sham members have been killed in the last few weeks.

Abu Aisha al-Tunisi, senior commander in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, was killed in the town of Has, the stronghold of the former al-Qaeda group.

5 more people were killed in IED explosion near the town of Sarmin on Thursday.

Tahrir al-Sham has been tracking ISIS sleeper cells in Idlib after a series of assassinations targeted its commanders in the recent weeks.

The formerly known as Nusra Front says the sleeper cells in Idlib are being led by the Russia.

Idlib has been a haven for tens of thousands of rebels and 2.3mn civilians who were forced to abandon their homes in other parts of western Syria that the regime and its foreign military allies have recaptured from rebels.

More Daesh cells to be eliminated very soon after intense efforts by the domestic security, rebel commander told Zaman al-Wasl.

Tahrir al-Sham on Sunday has arrested 13 people over links with the Syrian regime, saying they seek reconciliation deal with the Assad forces, local sources said.

The arrest raids targeted the town of al-Hubait in the southern countryside of Idlib. sources said the detained people had been coordinating with the Russian Hmeimym base in Latakia. 

Rebel groups warned civilians of any collaboration with Damascus or seeking reconciliation deals in Idlib and Hama provinces.
