Hasaka: MSF medics leave National Hospital over safety concerns

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Médecins Sans Frontières withdrew its staff from the National Hospital in al-Azizia in the northeastern Hasaka province after threats from unknown armed group, local media said Wednesday.

10 foreign doctors (English, Sudanese and Pakistani) from the MSF left service at the National Hospital four days ago, local Kurdish news feeds reported.

The regime’s health directorate denounced the organization's presence in the Kurdish and opposition areas.  The regime forces arrested four of the organization's medics in the city of Qamishli weeks ago.

The regime's governor in Hasakah prevented fuel, medicines, and laboratory materials from being transferred to the hospital because officials of the powerful Democratic Union Party (PYD) did not abide by an agreement last year to neutralize the National Hospital and remove its militants from the hospital.
