Syrian rebels claim making gains in Hama

Rebels in the Syrian city of Hama have claimed that they are gradually making gains against the Syrian army, Al Jazeera's correspondent Jamal Elshayyal reports.

Opposition fighters said they have been able to advance on government-held positions after receiving artillery weapons and rockets.

The use of artillery has allowed them to attack President Bashar al-Assad's forces from a distance, weaken government held positions and pave the way for their fighters to capture more territory.
