Kremlin accuses US of interference in Interpol vote

An appeal by U.S. senators to vote against a nominee for the head of Interpol is interference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

"This is a kind of interference in the electoral process, in the elections in an international organization. How else would you evaluate it? Here is a visual manifestation," he said.

Earlier four U.S. senators called on the U.S. presidential administration and Interpol General Assembly to pitch against Russian Alexander Prokopchuk, the Interior Ministry general, who is a contender for the top post of Interpol.
