(Zaman Al Wasl)- Six regime army officers were killed Friday when a landmine exploded inside their base in southern Daraa province, pro-regime news feeds said.
The explosion took place in Battalion 210 near the town Al-Sanamayn.
More than 125,000 pro-regime forces have been killed in seven years of brutal war, according to local monitoring groups.
Twoo weeks ago, the Popular Resistance launched an attack on regime checkpoints in Al-Sanamayn, leaving dozen killed and wounded, the rebel group said.
The dawn attack marks an end to false reconciliations deals in southern Syria.
The new alliance of rebels’ factions in southern Daraa province has promised to escalate its operations against Bashar al-Assad’s forces, vowing more guerrilla attacks in the coming days.
Since the Syrian revolution erupted in 2011, more than 470,000 people have been killed, and more than 6 million people have been displaced.
