An opposition source says
China is to open a dialogue with key opposition group in-exile, National
Coalition.
The source said that closed
meeting took place recently between the Chinese envoy, who works in China
Embassy in Turkey, and number of opposition figures in the NC headquarters in
Istanbul.
Mr. Badr Jamous, Coalition secretary-general,
told the delegate that Coalition has not taken a decision yet regarding its
participation in a new round of Geneva talks. The envoy in his turn has praised
last peace talks as concrete step to end Syrian conflict, according to the source.
Jamous denounced the Russian
stand in favour of Assad’s regime in both battleground and Security Council.
The meeting also discussed the
possibility of opening an office for NC in the Chinese capital, Beijing.
Syria's war has since March 2011 killed more than 140,000 people and
forced millions more to flee.
