Turkey's state-run news agency says police have detained 12 suspected Daesh (ISIS) militants, including two women who are wanted in France.
Anadolu Agency reported Wednesday that the suspects were detained during police raids in the northwestern province of Bursa earlier this week. The group includes French citizens of Syrian or Algerian descent who settled in Bursa after allegedly carrying out unspecified "acts" on behalf of Daesh in Syria, the news agency said.
Anadolu says five of the suspects will be deported. Its report didn't name the women sought by France.
Turkish police detained dozens of suspected Daesh followers in the final days of December. Daesh claimed responsibility for a gunman's Jan.1, 2017 attack at an Istanbul nightclub that killed 39 people, most of them foreigners.
