Assad Forces use Chlorine in attacks on Deir Al Zour

Cases of serious suffocation reported in Deir al-Zour’s field hospitals following a regime chlorine attack Tuesday evening, according to medical sources.

A number of rebels with symptoms of asphyxia, and Nervosism were rushed to field hospitals from al-Rushdia neighborhood Front, sources said.

Deir al-Zour is the 6th largest city in Syria and the largest in the eastern part of Syria. Located 450 km (280 mi) to the northeast from the capital Damascus and most of its suburbs are under FSA control.

Unified Medical Center in the city, issued a statement saying that the victims were exposed to unknown, non-toxic gases.

Military and revolutionary sources said that a missile which was not fully exploded lunched the gas causing these injuries; and that confirms the hypothesis that the missile’s content was gas and not explosives.

Medical sources in Deir al-Zour expected that the gas used in the attacks is poisonous chlorine.  Reporting by Dani Murad
