(Zaman Al Wasl)- The US-led Syrian Democratic Forces has launched new conscription campaign targeting local teachers in Hasaka and Raqqa provinces, activists said.
During last months, about 100 teachers from the areas of Tal Hamis, Tal Brak, Qahtaniya and al-Ya’arobiya, al-Malikya, Hasaka and Ras al-Ayn have joined the conscriptions camps.
The Education Commission in the Democratic Union Part (PYD), de-facto ruler of Kurdish areas, says teachers working in its schools must join ‘mandatory’ recruitment camps, known as ‘self-defense camps’.
The US-backed militia says the teachers will be back to classrooms as fighting ends with Daesh (ISIS) fighters.
