Syria’s key opposition has received an invitation to visit White House and to meet the U.S. President Barack Obama, well-informed source said.
The under secretary of state for political affairs, Wendy Sherman, has invited Mr. Ahmad Jarba onn the sidelines of Syrian talks in Geneva, Jan 22, 'Al Arabi Aljadid' website said.
According to the source, Washington did not specify the date of the visit.
Syria's opposition in the recent months has called on the U.S. to approve military action against al-Assad and said any intervention should be accompanied with more arms for the rebels.
The opposition says that world has offered only condolences and promises while Assad's regime, supported by its allies in Iran and Russia, has been busy killing Syria's democratic hopes.
