Syria’s opposition Interim government
has decried in statement the founding of the supreme council for Local
Administrations was announced in Gaziantep, Turkey recently.
The Interim Local Administration Ministry issued
a statement refusing recognition of the newly founded council completely, denying
any connection with it and considered it as a breach to the law 107 regulating
the work of Local Administration which is adopted by the National Coalition and
the Interim Government.
The founding communique of Local
Administrations has concentrated on strengthening the relationship between the
Syrian National Coalition (SNC) and its interim Government, also it put the stepping stone for civil leadership
instead of Military or security one, besides providing enough fund for Local
Councils' projects.
The statement which has been signed
by 8 local councils, said that it aims to establish healthy transition from
centralism and dictation into decentralization and liberty and empowering the
revolution to fulfil its demands of changing Syrian regime and rebuild the
country, beside supporting the public support of the revolution by providing
services and fund at local levels
The Ministry has explained that
Local councils should be aware that there is no relation or connection between
the Ministry and the mentioned council.
The Ministry statement destroyed the
most important aim of the council which was to strengthen the bonds between the
coalition and people inside Syria. Translation by Yusra Ahmed
