Opposition Embassy in Doha to renew Syrians’ passports: Ambassador

Opposition Coalition's Ambassador to Qatar Nizar al-Heraki claimed, in a phone call with Zaman Alwasl, that the embassy will renew Syrians passports in the upcoming days within a legal acknowledged framework.

“We are about % 60 ready and within the next days will be fully prepared after the completion of arrangements related to this matter,” he said. “Right now the first step is renewing Syrians passports and later on, we will issue new ones,” added.

All Syrians are able to renew their passports not just the Syrian residents in Qatar, source says.

In an earlier time, the regime’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to close its embassies in Washington, Riyadh and Kuwait.

The embassies in Kuwait and Washington have been closed, and the embassy in Riyadh was given a deadline until the second of the next month.

The Syrian Embassy in Doha is the only embassy associated with the Syrian revolution, and is considered an organic branch of the "National Coalition".
