(Zaman Al Wasl)- Bombardment by militias loyal to Bashar al-Assad killed at least 6 civilians, including two children and a woman, in Idlib province, activists said Saturday.
The heavy artillery fire targeted the town of Khan Sheikhoun in the southern countryside of Idlib.
Idlib has been hit by sporadic regime shelling for weeks despite the buffer zone deal between Russia and Turkey.
Turkey, which backs moderate Syrian rebels, and Russia, the regime's principal foreign ally, agreed in September to create a demilitarised zone in northwest Idlib region that would be evacuated of all heavy weapons and hardline fighters.
Russia has demanded that Turkey do more to tackle hardcore fighters in Idlib province and fulfil promises.
Turkey says it has been implementing the Idlib agreement without any problems, despite provocations from different sides in the war.
Since the Syrian revolution erupted in 2011, more than 560,000 people have been killed, and more than 6 million people have been displaced.
