Waad party is not Musilm Brotherhood affiliate: Deputy


 Deputy head of the National Party for the justice and constitution, WAAD (en:promise) denied claims saying that Syria's Muslim Brotherhood movement stands behind the party formation. 

Nabil Kassis accused media of their attempts to show the party,  which has been announced recently, as a the political section of Muslim brotherhood, pointing out to the fact that common thoughts and principles among Islamists and left winged Syrians, led to the founding the party.

Kassis said that the Executive office consists of four Muslim brotherhood members, two moderate Islamists, and five left winged members from different religious sects, which make it difficult for the Muslim Brotherhood to control the party’s decisions.

Kassis revealed to Zaman Alwasl that his role in the party is not as a Christian representative, mentioning that Waad has many Syrians from different political and religious attitudes, bigger than Muslim brotherhood members’ weight, however, they all have many common principles.

Kassis confirms that many Syrians from different ethnic and religious groups have participated in the party, which calls for civil democratic country. The Head Deputy revealed that many Alawites, Druze and Kurds are members in the party, besides Christians and Islamic from different sections and attitudes, ranging from conservatives to moderate and Liberals.

Kassis confirms that Waad intends to join the Syrian National Coalition “SNC” and confirms that many responsible for the task are following the matter.

Kassis declares that he is a member of the party’s leadership, not as a Christian, but as a Syrian person, have common thoughts and principles with the Party’s principles for civilization and democracy, and looking for finding common view and blending different point of view to create principles acceptable by all.
