Six children killed in regime's cluster bombs: Idlib Media Center

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Six children were killed Friday in Maarrat al-Nu'man when the regime forces hit the northern town with cluster bombs, Idlib Media Center reported.

An array of towns in Idlib province came under regime artillery fire in new regime escalation against the buffer zone area.

The artillery fire targeted the towns of Maarrat al-Nu'man, Sarmin, Saraqeb and al-Khawin.

During the week, 19 civilians killed in regime airstrikes on Khan Sheikhoun town in two separated airstrikes.

Idlib has been hit by sporadic regime shelling for weeks despite the buffer zone deal between Russia and Turkey.

Turkey, which backs moderate Syrian rebels, and Russia, the regime's principal foreign ally, agreed in September to create a demilitarised zone in northwest Idlib region that would be evacuated of all heavy weapons and hardline fighters.

Since the Syrian revolution erupted in 2011, more than 560,000 people have been killed, and more than 6 million people have been displaced.
