A document sent from the Head of
security branch 279 to Security Director dated 2/1/2014 shows evidence that
Syrian regime decision in not more than dictation from Russian ally.
Zaman Alwasl has obtained that
document and it shows the Russian directions about Geneva2, which suggested
three most important points Syrian regime delegates must stick on, which were:
fighting terrorism and al-Qayida, and the importance of cooperation between the
International community and Syria. While the third was the insistence on
refusing foreign interference in the interior Syrian policy.
Russian interference went further
than that as they suggested the delegation team which needed to consist of
Walid al-Moallem and his deputy, Faisal al-Miqdad, and Bothaina Shaaban.
The document mentioned promises of
Russian strong support during direct discussion and talks before the UN, with
advices to concentrate on fighting terrorism, al-Qayida, ISIS and extremists.
Surprisingly, Russian ally even
suggested sending “Shabiha” to Geneva2 conference location.
Russian dictation reached to the
limit to direct Syrian regime to free some detainees and commit to humanitarian
aid to under siege areas, if the opposition committed to that as well. That may
explain some agreement to cease fire between regime and armed opposition and
delivering aid to siege areas like Homs and Yarmouk. Translation by Yusra Ahmed
