(Zaman Al Wasl)- A wife of Syrian journalist held captive by the military intelligence to press her wanted husbanded surrenders himself to the security in southern Daraa province , local activists said Tuesday.
The military intelligence forces stopped and arrested wife of Mohamed al-Shar’a at a checkpoint between the cities of Daraa and Damascus on Monday while she was on her way to the capital.
The notorious security division said the woman would be released as soon as her husband surrenders.
The journalist and media activists Mohamed fled Daraa province last August to the opposition-held areas in northern Syria following the evacuation deals brokered by Russia.
Syria is one of the most dangerous places in the world for journalists.
At least 123 journalists have been killed covering the Syrian conflict, and regime or military officials are suspected in more than half of those deaths, according to The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
