Yemeni military officials say the Arab coalition launched a series of airstrikes along the Yemen-Saudi border that mistakenly killed and wounded forces allied with the government.
The officials say eight border guards were killed and 33 others wounded when the coalition staged a bombing operation in the Al-Araba mountains in Jawf governorate Thursday. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak to the media.
Over the course of the four-year-old war, coalition bombs have at times struck allied forces and civilians.
