Sudan's Omar al-Bashir has stepped down as president, Sudanese military sources claimed in an apparent military takeover Thursday.
Al-Bashir has been placed under house arrest as his bodyguards have been detained, military sources said.
Military sources said Sudanese military intelligence has rounded up more than 100 leading members of ruling National Congress Party.
The country has been rocked by anti-Bashir protests for months.
