Lebanon's security arrests activist Ahmed al-Khader

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian activists said the Lebanese security had arrested activist Ahmed al-Khader two weeks ago in Beirut over no concrete charges and in spite of his legal residency.

Al-Khader fled the town of al-Hola in central Homs province to Lebanon, escaping Syria’s deadly war. He was a prominent field activist due to the people’s suffering since the peaceful protests began in 2011.

Human rights groups voiced concern over mounting hatred speech against the Syrian refugees in Lebanon as well as the mounting abuses and discrimination.

Lebanon hosts between 1.5 and two million Syrians, according to local statistics. Nearly a million of these are registered as refugees with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.
