119 displaced not allowed to return home over security concerns

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime authorities declined the return of 119 displaced to their hometown in central Homs province without declared reasons, according to leaked document obtained by Zaman al-Wasl.

The ban document that issued in April was signed by the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf and directed to Homs Governor Talal Al-Barazi.

According to the document, refuse was by the National Security Office head by Maj.Gen Ali Mamlouk.

The process of displacing the people of Teldo and al-Houla towns in the northern countryside of Homs began after an evacuation deal brokered by Russia in 2017.

Activist Khawla Hassan al-Hadid told Zaman al-Wasl that the decision has violated the agreed deals that allow evacuated people to return to their homes when they want.

The war, which started in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-regime demonstrations, has killed more than 560,000 people and displaced millions.
