Daraa: unknown armed group kills two soldiers

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Two army troops were killed Friday by an armed group in southern Daraa province, local sources said.

The two soldiers, who were operating in the Fourth Armored Division, killed in the village of al-Nahj near the town of Tal Shihab.

No rebel group claimed the responsibility for the attack on the regime army checkpoint.

The unstable security condition in southern Daraa province has been leading to severe tensions due to the regime’s revenge policy, despite reconciliation deals.

Local activists say the frustration is mounting with regards to the regime’s security policies of arbitrary arrest and isolating the towns with military barriers.

Eight years of war in Syria have killed 560,000 people and driven half the pre-war population of 22 million from their homes, including more than 6 million as refugees to neighbouring countries.
