Sharp decline in Syrian Pound against US Dollar

 (EQTSAD)- The price of the Syrian pound against the US dollar has been declined since Saturday in local exchange rate in opposition-held areas.

In eastern Raqqa province , the dollar reached an unprecedented rate due to the ongoing offensive by regime and Russia in northwest Syria. In the northeast, the dollar reached 617 SYP at the buy rate and 619 SYP at the sell rate.

While in al-Hasakah, Manbij and Qamishli, it reached 615 SYP at buy and 617 SYP at sell.

In Al-Bab and Sarmada, it was recorded at 612 SYP buy and 614 SYP sell. While in Aleppo, Idlib and Azaz, it was at 610 SYP-buy and 612SYP-sell.

In Hama, at 607 SYP buy and 609 SYP sell.

Finally, in Damascus, the dollar rose to its highest rate in two months, recorded at 608 SYP buy and 610 SYP sell.

The central bank kept "remittances and imports" at 434 SYP, as well as "private intervention" across banks at 436 SYP.
