(Zaman Al Wasl)- A Syrian student outperformed her Turkish peers after graduating from two universities with honors, the Turkish Sabah newspaper reported.
Roba Abousaleh, who came to Mersin city with her family years ago fleeing the Syrian war, has graduated from two universities with two different specializations, exceeding her Turkish peers and overcoming all language barriers.
Abousaleh had taken the foreign students' entrance exam at Turkish universities after finishing high school, and was able to enroll in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Cukurova, Adana, which is ranked among the top 10 public universities in Turkey.
Abousaleh has studied, in parallel, Islamic Law at the University of Anatolia through the open education system, graduating top of her class in the Department of Prosthodontics, and finishing her Sharia studies with honors.
The refugee student worked during her university years teaching Turkish to children to help her complete her studies without burdening her parents with the expenses.
