Surgeon beaten and kidnapped by militant Tahrir al-Sham: doctors syndicate

   (Zaman Al Wasl)- Militant Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group has arrested an orthopaedic surgeon after being chased, shot on his foot, beaten and insulted for hours, Free Doctors Syndicate in northern Idlib province said Wednesday. 

Dr. Othman al-Hassan, who works in the Bab al-Hawa hospital, has been taken to unknown destination, according to statement.

The formerly-known Jabhat al-Nusra has detained and killed most of its opponents including citizen journalists and human rights advocates.
 
Most of Idlib province and parts of neighboring Aleppo and Latakia provinces are controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

 Like ISIS (Daesh), Tahrir al-Sham wants to create an Islamic state of its own, according to the Independent. That dream makes the whole region under its control in northwestern Syria a ground for violations and abuses.

Targeting doctors and medics of Idlib came as the 4-month-old regime offensive killed 1000 civilians and wounded thousands who in urgent need for treatment.
