A Syrian child was killed, and two more children wounded in a landmine explosion in the rebel-held city of Afrin city near the Turkish border, rescuing White Helmets agency said Tuesday.
Local activists said the childern were the victimed of lansdmines planted by Kurdish militias before the Turkish forces backed by Syrian rebels took the town in March 2018.
Meanwhile, Turkish security forces arrested nine people in Afrin for their suspected links to the PKK group, a local officials said on Tuesday.
According to the Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s National Intelligence Service (MIT) and police in Afrin continued their fight against the PKK and their branch in Syria, the YPG.
The conflict in Syria has killed more than 560,000 people and displaced 6.5 millions.
