Shiite towns urge regime to release abductees by rebels

Translation by Dani Murad

With great resentment, people of Nubul and Zahra, the Shiite villages in northern Aleppo, which were rumored to be under tight siege by rebels, have expressed their anger of the relief aid sent by regime forces recently.

This resentment has been observed by Zaman Alwasl through comments published on the towns’ social websites, as in one status that literally said:” We do not want an aid that holds with it lies, deception and shame, and behind it carries the biggest media deal ever made”. “If you want to help us, and then help our children and women first, our media for the first time in two years has mentioned us in “the breaking news”, to talk about the humiliating aid that entered our towns while we have been besieged for two years.

“Our people refuse to receive the aid before the release of the abducted women and men and the aid convoy will be sent back toward Zahra.”

Another Facebook status said:” we don't need your anesthetic needles to drug our minds, nor a can of tuna to survive hunger, or a carton of milk for a child who got used to drink his tears to preserve his dignity; we don’t want your deception or the canned food, we only want our prisoners and abductees.

A news report that was broadcasted through networks specialized to follow-up the affairs of the two towns, confirmed that people of Nubul and Zahra went on demonstrations refusing the relief aid unless kidnapped women and children are released , and among their slogans that they shouted “ no aid, no supplies , only want the abductees “.

These kind of slogans reveals two very important things: first, demolish the lie revolves around the inhuman siege imposed by rebels on the two towns, which Is not a real existing siege in the way portrayed by the regime since all supply routes had not been cut off, whether by land through areas controlled by Kurdish militias (PKK) loyal to the regime or by air through transferring aid by helicopters.

And if a real tight and deadly siege was imposed on the two towns similar to regime’s heavy blockade for two years to areas in Southern and Eastern Damascus (Al Ghutta) or in old Homs, then Nubul and Zahra’s people will not hesitate for one moment to welcome regime’s aid, especially because it comes from a regime that they support and sacrifice their children and their property for its sake.

Second, is that the two Shitte villages discovered and refused before anyone else regime’s tricks and manipulations, who wanted to use the aid paper to cover its inability to release their prisoners, and deceive those who do not know the “comfortable” living conditions that prevail in the two town and the availability of life necessities like water, food and medicine.

The regime and its supporters could not even fabricate a single story or a picture to someone who died of starvation, like in the one imposed by the regime on Al yarmouk camp or Moadamyeh, where access to food, fuel, and medical supplies has been cut off to squeeze the life out of these areas under the slogan “hunger or kneel to us”.
