Rally for Assad's supporters in Hasakah ends by brawl and casualties

AL HASAKAH (Zaman Alwasl) More than 400 tribal figures loyal to the Syrian regime have gathered on Wednesday  in Qamishli city northern of Hasakah, amid pro –regime demonstrations that are under surveillance of The Democratic Union Party (PYD).

The pro-regime meeting was held in the presence of tribal figures mostly parliament members, or they hold other positions as "Mohammed Thiab Al Mashi. Activists said.

The meeting included Muhammad Ali Zaal al-Ali governor of Hasakah, and Khalaf al-Muhasham , Secretary of al-Baath party in the city and other regime’s official representatives, which demolished the party’s claim that it works in isolation from Assad’s regime.

Moreover, the meeting was attended by prominent tribal figures, military leaders, Muslim and Christian clergy men, and Druze from all parts of Syria, who arrived to the city by air amid tight security measures that involved The National Defense Militia, (PYD) , militants of counter-terrorism party and the security branches in Qamishli.

The pro-regime demonstrations ended in disagreements and escalated to clashes between (masked) National Defense militias and other militias that belong to the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and resulted in killing and wounding some of them.

In another context, The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) announced its control over al-Faresa village west of Ras al Ain following violent clashes with militants of Democratic Union Party (PYD).

It’s noteworthy that the Democratic Union Party controls the border cities of Malikia east of Ras Al Ain, and announced last January the formation of one local government, two months after the announcement of self-management authority in north of Hassaka governorate.
