Danish FM denies EU cooperation with Syrian regime over terrorism combat

(Zaman Alwasl) Martin Lidegaar, Denmark's foreign minister, denied any cooperation between Syrian Intelligence and many European countries as part of anti- terrorism activities.

The FM confirmed to Zaman Alwasl that EU countries do not deal with Assad’s regime, but they coordinate with the Interim government and the National Coalition to tackle Syrian people’s sufferings.

He mentioned that it would be difficult these days to open the Syrian Embassy in Denmark, as the government has not been elected by Syrian people.

He expressed his satisfaction about the Coalition performance in Geneva2 conference compared to Syrian Regime’s.

The Danish Foreign Minister declared that EU country would not recognize the latest Presidential election the regime calling for, and declared that he consider the Interim Government and the National Coalition are the representatives of Syrian people.

The Foreign Minister confirmed in a press conference following his meeting with the president of the Interim government, the liberated Aleppo Governor and the head of Aleppo’s Police in Gaziantep to find ways to support police forces in Aleppo.

The head of Aleppo police confirmed that Danish government supported Police forces with 66 police vehicle to facilitate their job, which is part of support by “Friends of Syrian people countries”

The Foreign Minister confirmed that European countries do not provide any military support to the Interim Government, just non- lethal equipments.

Lidegaar declared that they cannot recognize any official documents like University certificates or passports, given by the Interim Government as it is not an elected government and the international community cannot accept opening Syrian Embassies for the same reason.

However the head of Aleppo council replied to that claim saying: “the local councils were elected as there are 160 elected councils.”
