Above The Earth: novel deals with genesis of Syrian Revolution

(Zaman Al Wasl)- After his novel "The Road to Zaatari" that sparked outrage in literary circles, the Syrian novelist Mohamed Fathi Al-Miqdad publishes a new book titled "Above the Earth", in which he attempts to capture all crucial and historical details of the revolution, in his own form of literary expression.

The novel deals with the genesis of the Syrian revolution, before taking up arms and before the violence, which caused a great tragedy that affected all social and religious groups as well as national ethnicities, and created a state of forced displacement that drove Syrians to spread throughout various parts of the world. Al-Miqdad adds that political injustice has led to a scattered social system, between supporters and opposition.

The characters of the novel are a mixture of real and fictional people, which are also based on real life.

Al-Miqdad expressed his ambition to continue his writing project in which he explores the Syrian revolution and the course of the war, committing himself to a peaceful approach of resistance, explaining that weapons have only served in killing the revolution.
