150,000 Palestinian refugees fled Syria in 8 years: AGPS

Action Group For Palestinians Of Syria (AGPS) documentation team found out that over 150,000 Palestinian refugees have fled the Syrian territories, where 650,000 Palestinians used to take shelter prior to the outburst of the deadly warfare.

Over 60% of Palestinians from Syria have undergone displacement for at least once all the way through the eight-year conflict.

According to AGPS data, nearly 100,000 PRS reached Europe until the end of 2018. Some 28,000 PRS have, meanwhile, sought refuge in Lebanon, 17,000 in Jordan, 6,000 in Egypt, 8,000 in Turkey, and 4,000 in Greece. Another 1,000 refugees returned to the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip.

53 PRS also drowned at sea onboard Europe-bound migrant boats.

Eight years of war in Syria have killed 560,000 people and driven half the pre-war population of 22 million from their homes, including more than 6 million as refugees to neighbouring countries.
