At least two workers were killed on Tuesday when an explosion took place in northeastern Qamishli city, state-run news agency SANA reported.
The explosion occurred when an explosive device went off while workers were repairing an electrical motor in a workshop, SANA said.
It noted that the explosive device was planted inside the damaged electricity motor they were trying to repair.
No further details were given about the explosion.
It's not the first bombing to hit Qamishli in Hasakah province as the area is largely controlled by Kurdish forces who share enmity with the Islamic State (IS) group, whose sleeper cells frequently carry out explosions as a kind of revenge.
Also in northeastern Syria, three chidlren were wounded in bomb explosion in Turkish-held town of Ras al-Ayn.
