Activists say 350 regime troops killed in four weeks

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 120 regime forces from coastal Latakia and Tartus provinces have killed by the Turkish army, such a death toll is expected to rise as Turkish Defense Ministry says Bashar al-Assad's deaths are exceeded 2500.

At least 350 Syrian army troops and officers were killed in the past four weeks in northern Syria, mostly killed in Turkish artillery and combat drones attacks, local activists said.

Among the regime casualties, Two Maj. Generals and 8 Brigadier Generals were killed.

But the Turkish Defense Ministry has another death toll of 2500 said they have been killed since its operation began in northern Syria last February.

Regime forces have killed more than 59 Turkish troops in the past month, including 34 soldiers killed last Thursday in a single airstrike.

Assad's loyalists on Friday have buried a military pilot said his fighter jet was crashed in the Shayrat airfield in central Homs province.

General Brigadier Younes Maqdeed was buried in coastal Latakia city.

At least three regime warplanes have been downed by Turkey last week, State-run news agency reported.

Rebels and jihadists have killed more than 135,000 pro-regime forces since the armed conflict erupted eight years ago with the brutal repression of protests against the Assad regime, according to local monitoring groups.

The conflict in Syria has also killed more than 560,000 people and displaced 6.5 millions.
