Assad forces kill four armed men in Sweida province

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime forces killed four armed men in the southern Sweida province what sparked tensions in the main stronghold of Druze Community in Syria, Sweida 24 news site said Friday.

The faction of Arman Al-Hrayeb denied in statement any assault by its fighters, saying the regime forces have opened fire on seven fighters, killing four and wounding three.

According to the statement the fighters were executed in cold blood at the Sad al-Ayn checkpoint.

Sweida has been spared the same scale of devastating violence, fighting and mass detainment that has rocked communities elsewhere in the country over the course of Syria's nine-year war.

On Sunday, Sheikh al-Karama, another armed faction formed by Druze community fighters, made a swap deal with the regime army, releasing 8 forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad.

'Sheikh al-Karama' units said the regime has freed a senior commander after two months of detention.

In return, they have freed 5 officers, two Hezbollah militants and one soldier.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights recorded that at least 1.2 million Syrian citizens were subjected to arrest and torture, but approximately 147,000 people are still under arbitrary detention or enforced disappearance and torture.
