(Zaman Al Wasl)- Egyptian authorities will deport a Syrian woman due to 7-year-old Facebook posts criticizing the military coup, media outlets said Thursday.
The Egyptian Interior Minister Mohamed Tawfiq issued a decision stating that Heyam Sobhi Al-Badi is to be deported outside the country for reasons related to the public interest, with no further details.
Egyptian media said Al-Badi has ‘inappropriately insulted Egypt’ on her social media accounts.
Social Media activists said Al-Badi's posts followed the military coup in 2013 that ousted the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.
The nine-year-old conflict in Syria has displaced 7.5 millions, 133,000 of them live in Egypt.
