Blast kills two army troops in Raqqa: activists

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Two Syrian troops were killed and six more wounded in a blast bomb in the eastern province of Raqqa, activists said Thursday.

The blast took place near the town of Ein Issa in the northern countryside of Raqqa.

Regime forces and allied fighters have come under a series of ambushes, assassinations and bombings, mostly carried out by the Islamic State group.

Ten days ago, 18 army soldiers were killed by Daesh in the Syrian desert.

Opposition factions and hardline groups have killed more than 140,000 pro-regime forces since the armed conflict erupted nine years ago, according to local monitoring groups.
