Explosive device kills one civilian in Al-Bab town

(Zaman Al Wasl)- One person was killed by an improvised explosive device in opposition areas in northern Aleppo province, activists said Tuesday.

The attack took place in the border town of al-Bab east of Aleppo city.

Bomb attacks have been mounted on Turkish-held areas in northern Syria as Ankara blames the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) which it views as a "terrorist" offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Last week, a fuel truck bomb killed more than 46 people including at least six Turkey-backed rebel fighters in the city of Afrin.

Turkish troops and allied rebels seized the region from Kurdish forces in March 2018 after a two-month air and ground offensive.
