(Zaman Al Wasl)- A senior militant in Iran's Revolutionary Guards was killed in a landmine explosion in northern Aleppo province, Iran's news agency and activists said Tuesday.
Abu Al-Fadhel Serlak was killed along with other pro-Iran fighters near Athariya area in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.
Fars news agency said Abu Al-Fadhel Serlak was killed while defending the 'shrine of Ahl al-Bayt in Syria' in such a religious statement used by the theocrats regime to justify involving in Syria's war and defending Bashar al-Assad.
Iran set up about 20 outposts last March in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo and eastern Idlib region. About 2000 militants and heavy weapons were deployed in the new positions, rebel commander told Zaman Al-Wasl.
The Iranian regime has spent an average of $15-16 billion in Syria since the conflict erupted nine years ago, while the annual support afforded by to Iranian citizens is approximately $8 billion, reports say.
