Syrian regime has recruited many females as informers reporting rebels’ and activists’ news and works, as they are less suspicious when they get close or inside the rebels’ gatherings and groups.
Rima Hamwi, dual Nationality holder, Syrian and Lebanese, she was behind arresting of many activists in al-Midan in Damascus.
She worked secretly as informers for many months, them her true identity and political orientation was know after publishing many photos of her. One of those photos was in the military costume, holding an armed gun, standing next to a man in military clothes as well next to a car covered with Bashar’s photo with no number on the can plate, but written on it “Ali Mawlai” . While another photo appeared holding a big Syrian Flag, and the third standing next to other girls in front of big photo of Bashar.
A female activist spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Rima Hamwi was behind her detention twice, as she thought she was a friend and an activist, so she told her about the plans and relief activities she and other people do.
The activist said to Zaman Alwasl that Rima live next to al-Hasan Mosque and has dual Nationality, and can travel between Syria and Lebanon easily as she has both Nationalities.
“Suspicion started to get around Rima when many activists she knew got arrested. Things almost were confirmed when a real estate owner, lives in Dubai, used to send money with me to Douma, contacted me accusing me of informing the security about him and other activists, then I knew that was Rima who had done that” the activist detailed.
The activist added that Rima worked to the Air Forces Intelligence, relying on the facts that members from the intelligence branch kept asking her parents about her, and during detention one of her friends in the Air Forces Intelligence branch they asked about the activist as well, which pointed the accusation finger to Rima.
The activist now lives in Egypt for a week, with her 3 children, as she run away after the security forces break in her house wanted to arrest her for the third time. She was detained twice, in Palestine branch and the National Security branch. She participated in al-Harika sit in, and participated in al-Midan, Kafer Sousa and Kaboun demonstrations.
