30 dead as Assad’s planes hit Salqeen near Idlib

An airstrike in the northern Syrian province of Idlib killed 30 people, including 3 children, on Sunday as Regime’s helicopter gunships pounded a rebel-held town of Salqeen, activist said.

The attack struck the town main market at sunset while people were buying food and staples for the first day of Holy month of Ramadan.

Idlib has been carved up into rebel- and government-controlled areas since opposition fighters launched an offensive in the country's north in mid-2012.

Syria's conflict, now in its fourth year, has killed at least 162,000 people, according to activists, and forced nearly 3 million to flee the country.
