Damascus: three doctors tested positive for COVID-19

 Three Syrian doctors were tested positive for coronavirus in Damascus, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University said Wednesday.

Dr. Naboug Al-Awa said the three cases were recorded among the internship doctors in the university hospital.

In the opposition-held area in northern Syria, three doctors were tested positive for COVID-19, health officials said two weeks ago.

Hospitals in Syria's overcrowded enclave are suspending non-emergency procedures and outpatient services.

In regime-held areas in Syria, authorities have recorded 561 cases, including 32 virus-related deaths. 

 Syrian Minister of Health Nizar Yazigi warned on Monday of the epidemic' rapid spread in the war-torn country.

In Al-Tal, the northern suburb of Damascus, health officials have confirmed 20 coronavirus cases. More cases were confirmed in the Eastern Ghouta district.
