The 18-month-old displaced infant, Mohamed, is in urgent need for a head surgery in Turkey as he suffers from a cerebral edema caused by the accumulation of fluids in his head.
According to medical reports issued by Al-Bab Hospital, Mohamed suffers from complete birth defects in bone with ascites of the brain and functional impairment by 75%, and he needs an operation to treat ascites of the brain.
His displaced family called on aid and relief agencies for help saving Mohamed's life.
According to Medical News Today, cerebral edema is when fluid builds up around the brain, causing an increase in pressure known as intracranial pressure. Swelling or inflammation is part of the body's natural response to injury.
