(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 17 army forces from Bashar al-Assad's coastal region have been died of Coronavirus and airstrikes since August, pro-regime accounts said.
The death toll has included 8 officers, four of them were top generals. Activists said Maj. Gen Adib Jabbour was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the 61st Brigade in southern Daraa province.
More than 220,000 regime forces have been killed since the armed conflict erupted nine years ago.
The conflict in Syria has also killed more than 500,000 people and displaced 13.2 millions.
