(Translation by Yusra Ahmed)

Syrian National Coalition’s embassy in Doha has forwarded a respond to Zaman Alwasl’s article in regard to renewing Syrian passports in Doha.

After official greeting, the letter explains that Embassy is keen to provide Syrians with services they need, but in the same time, the Coalition does not want to do anything or provide any document might be subject to suspicion.

The letter carries on explaining that Embassy has followed all legal and official procedure. However, after announcement in regard to renewing passports, no country supported the project except Qatar.

The letter adds that a year ago communication with Arab Countries, Turkey and the Arab League took place. Bahrain was the only country to accept renewing Syrian passports besides Qatar.

Te letter confirms that renewing stickers are ready and the Embassy has tackled most problem facing the project, and they are now in the archiving stage of the project, which will be followed with issuing passports to Syrians in Qatar and Gulf country, them to Syrians all over the world.

The letter explains that difficulties faced the project were out of the Embassy’s hands, and the date given before to renew passport was made according to promises from some bodies, but things did not work well.

The letter ends justifying the ignorance of the Coalition’s member about the ongoing process in the Embassy, as it is not meant or needed for each member in the Coalition to know everything.
